Complete the UW–Madison Graduate Application
Please read these steps carefully before submitting your application online.
When you are ready, click this link to begin an online application. Then follow these steps:
- Click the “Apply” button on the right.
- If you’re a new student, click “Sign Up” under New Applicant.
- Create a new account.
- Click “Application Start” and fill out each section of the application.
- In the “Academic Interests” section, choose your admit term. When prompted to select your student type, select: Capstone Certificate > Power Conversion and Control.
- Fill out the remaining sections of your application, including:
- A 500-word personal statement explaining why you want to pursue the Capstone Certificate in Power Conversion and Control
- Residency evaluation
After submitting your application, please submit the following materials:
- Email your resume.
- In the subject line, include the program name and term of interest.
- Arrange to have two (2) letters of recommendation forwarded directly by your recommenders to the address/email listed below. At least one letter should be from your current or previous direct supervisor. Academic references are acceptable for applicants who have been out of school less than five years. - Request unofficial transcripts: Arrange to have a copy of your unofficial transcript(s) sent directly to gradadmissions@interpro.wisc.edu.
Once these items are submitted, your application file will be presented to the Admissions Committee for evaluation at the next scheduled meeting.
The admission decision: After a decision has been made on your application, Student Services will contact you by email to inform you of the decision and to schedule a time to discuss the decision and your next steps.
