The costs of each program vary. Here are the general costs associated with each:

• Master of Engineering: Engineering, Data Analytics

$1,300 per credit hour, with a total of $39,000* for the entire program.

• Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering

$1,300 per credit hour, with a total of $39,000* for the entire program.

• Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering: Power Engineering

$1,600 per credit hour, with a total of $48,000* for the entire program.

• Power Conversion and Control Capstone Certificate

$1,600 per credit hour, with a total of $14,400* for the entire certificate.

*This amount does not include textbooks or course-specific software. Software required for courses is typically available by UW–Madison or in educational versions at substantial discounts.

Below, you’ll find the average time it takes students to complete each degree. Keep in mind that since these are online programs, you can complete them at a pace that’s comfortable for you.

While you have the freedom to complete the Power Conversion and Control Capstone Certificate on your own timeline, many students complete the program in as little as one to two years.

Yes, you can transfer credits from other universities. The policies are program-specific and approved by the academic director. At the graduate level, there is a limit to how many credits you can transfer.

We have rolling admissions, so we do not review all materials until the full application is submitted.

While we don’t require students to take the GRE, we highly suggest you include your scores in your application if you have already taken it.
